Sometimes their frustrations are caused by the inability to feed themselves and even inability to communicate what they feel or want. Also, the symptoms of CP are visible and noticeable, thus making the children embarrassed and afraid to interact with other people and their peers due to how easily emotional they are. Consequently, it is hard for the children to maintain peer relationships (Brossard-Racine, Hall, Majnemer, Shevell, Law, Poulin, Rosenbaum, 2012) Positive challenges Parents need to be trained to be able to have good skills in handling their children with CP. These programs can also help parents assist their children in getting more skills while at the same time helping them reduce the behavioural problems. When parents master the triggers to their children, they can know how to control their children's behaviour and avoid the factors which lead to increased behavioural problems. Consequently, they and modify or change the environment which promotes the inappropriate behaviour. Cafeteria Food Essay Some people think that school cafeterias should be required to provide low-fat and/or vegetarian lunch options to accommodate the government’s nutritional guidelines, but all students do not eat the same. In my essay about cafeteria food, I will explain what students want in their food. I will also share the likes and dislikes in the food and what we can do to improve it. Cold pizza, undercooked hamburgers and brown lettuce sounds nasty. Many students from different states and districts have to deal with that every day at their schools. The food from the cafeterias used to be good, with a sweet flavor, but in the last few years the food had taken a different flavor, a flavor that cannot be tolerated by the students. The students need a better quality in their food, don’t they? It’s time for a change, a change to food, so students can be satisfied while their eating, a change to food that can be really worth it. As a matter of fact, we students pay money to the district every year and this is what we get? It’s time for a change. Everybody knows that eating healthy was from the past. However, now students and not necessarily just students eat fast food like McDonalds or Taco Bell. Now everybody does, which can be a good and a bad thing. The changes of the food’s taste has made many students to not eat at school, or even made students to bring lunch, and this as a matter of fact causes the school to lose money. In all actuality is the loss of money causing the school to give students poorly made food? If the schools would serve students food from places like Pizza Hut and Subway I can guarantee that most or all students would eat at the cafeterias and it would benefit to both school and students. These types of foods would be so great to have in schools, but unfortunately the district and the governments have taken action and unfairly, they have set down laws that prohibit these foods in the schools. They have settled these laws because they want us as students to eat healthy, but if they want to keep us healthy, why are they giving us food with a bad and nasty taste? Also, with these laws they keep students like me away from eating too much â€Å"junk† food because they can cause obesity. But do they keep on giving us food that is not even worth the amount of money our parents give to the government every year? If they were the ones who eat all of the nasty food given by the cafeteria they would of get tired of eating cold pizza and uncooked hamburgers with brown lettuce just like we the students do. In conclusion, we all understand what the government and the school system is trying to do with this healthy eating program. They want to promote healthy eating habits in an effort to prevent obesity. Although nutrition is important, students feel that there is a better way to have healthy food without ruining the taste. Therefore, in an effort to keep students healthy and leave with their stomachs satisfied we should all come together to realize that we are the ones that have to make it through the school day with the food. Studies have shown that children can become obese, violent and even dependent on television if watched too much television. Television can influence children in many different ways like becoming obese, become dependent on it too much; change school habits and even can become violent with watching different types of shows. It is time for parents to start standing up and take control over what and just how much their children watch television. It is said that children watch too much television even though some studies have proven that different types of children’s television shows tend to effect children in different ways also they learn new things faster. Shows like Blue’s Clues, Chuggington, Dinosaur Train, Mickey Mouse Club House, and Team Umizoomi are all filled with educational values that help children develop skills that they need. Blue’s Clues is a much liked show by children ages 2-4. According to Common Sense Media (2012), In fact, Blues Clues does a very fine job of treating its young viewers as the multifaceted individuals that they are.† This is very important to young children because it makes them feel as they are a part of something special when they watch shows like this. With these types of shows teach children how to have different types of important social skills, teamwork, science, alphabet, numbers, math problems and even have physical fitness in them which are some of the things that a child needs to know. It is up to the parent to make sure that their children are getting the correct balance of fun, education, and physical activity to help them grow. Studies have shown that cartoons have the most major impacts on children because in the cartoons to children it is something done every day and ok to act out likes the character on television. According to Kids Health from Nemours (1995-2012),† Kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior† which has become an issue to many different children around the world today. Children are like little sponges soaking up everything they can because every little boy and girl wants to be like their favorite cartoon hero or character. How much time a child watches television is a major factor in children’s behavior and their physical health. Whenever parents allow their children to sit in front of the television and watch more than four hours a day then parents could be running a risk of their child to become more dependent on television to keep them entertained, and this can become very harmful to a child’s health, or to their mental state as well. It can be hard on a parent try to clean house, cook a meal, and even do school work with children becoming bored, and parents just do not have the time to spend with them and then so it seem to be a helpful tool to be able to help at the time for them to watch television. One of the things that you can do to make sure when the appropriate times and what is the appropriate show’s to watch according to Kids Health from Nemours (1995-2012),† Come up with a family TV schedule that you all agree upon each week. Then, post the schedule in a visible area (e.g., on the refrigerator) so that everyone knows which programs are OK to watch and when. And make sure to turn off the TV when the scheduled program is over instead of channel surfing.† Instead of giving your children television time when they experience boredom some suggestion to them is to go outside and make believe that they are the characters in their favorite learning television show. Another thing is get them some flash cards with math, spelling or any type of learning cards. If you distract children from television with something better then you will have a child that cares less about the television and more about playing with their learning games. Common assumption say that violent television shows can mold a child to be either violent when they get older or they develop a fear of being hurt. Children take what they see and apply it to what they do, kind of like the saying â€Å"Monkey see monkey do† type of thing. According to Willson (2008) â€Å"Wilson also shows that childrens susceptibility to media influence can vary according to their gender, their age, how realistic they perceive the media to be, and how much they identify with characters and people on the screen.† † (p. 87) Children need positive role models in their life and someone to look up to in life and most children have their television characters. Parents can usually see the signs in a child just by the way they are when watching a certain television show, and the way that they act if they cannot see the television show is a sign that a parent needs to watch the television show to see what it is that is addicting about the show to their ch ild to make them act out. There are many different types of signs to help parents know if the show that your child is watching is appropriate for them or if it is not appropriate for them. Some of the signs that parents want to look for is if they have trouble in school, with drawn away from friends and family just to name a few, and if you see these problems then as a parent should step in and try to pull the child/children away from the television shows that they watch. Some say that it cannot be done but studies have shown that if there is more quality time spent between parents and their child/children then they will more than likely not have the desire to watch television. Over the past 2 weeks I have been conducting my own personal study on how to keep your children from watching too much television and kept some notes on the effects it had on them. They are more a fan of watching different television shows and not wanting to even play with their toys. So one day I went to the store and bout some board games, activity books, coloring books, learning flash cards and even some reading books. What it is that I have found is that if I just took an hour of my time to interact with them to help get them started and interested in one of the activity’s that I have bought and got them started on one of them with me that I could leave them and do my school work, house work and even cook dinner and not one-time did I hear the words â€Å"I want to watch television Aunt Becca!† So if parents just make the time to take time out of your time just to get them interested is a tremendous outcome in the end. Obesity is one of the most dangerous side effects that are found in children that watch more television than get out and do physical activities. When children watch television after eating or while eating breakfast, snacks, lunches, and dinner are found that they don’t want to get up, stop watching television and go outside and play with friends or siblings. Now they are doing nothing to help burn off the calories that they are consuming then they run a risk at becoming obese and develop other health issues later in life. According to How T.V. Effects Your Child (1995-2012), â€Å"Studies have shown that decreasing the amount of TV kids watched led to less weight gain and lower body mass index (BMI — a measurement derived from someones weight and height)†. One of the things that can help children avoid becoming hungry while watching television is by trying to minimize the commercials, because commercials are filled with yummy foods and snacks that they like to eat. One of the things to help with that would be when there is a commercial on pull them away to do some sort of activity like, clean their room, fold cloths, or just by even having them come in and explain what it is that is going on in their television show. Monitoring what children watch on television is one of the best things that you can do to keep our children from becoming obese, violent, dependent on television, and less disruptive in school. In conclusion there are many different pros and cons of television and the effects that it has on children can go both ways, but it is up to the parents to make sure that their children get the physical activity, mental education and correct role models that they need to make sure that they live a more healthier and active life style. What was the 1850 Compromise and Why did it Fail? In 1850, Henry Clay one of the most influential political leaders in American history introduced a set of resolutions, which aimed to please both North and South America. The five proposals were rolled into a single 'omnibus' bill, which offered a solution to the growing sectional conflict over slavery and westward expansion, which arose from the 1846 Mexican War. The 1850 Compromise, which Senator Douglas stripped down and effectively helped pass, failed for a number of reasons, the greatest of which was that it was unable to please both anti-slave and pro-slave groups. In fact it merely 'papered over the crack', and did not prove, as Daniel Webster a Clay supporter had hoped, 'a finality that would give peace to a country long distracted by the quarrel over slavery'. Why did the Compromise ultimately fail, and lead to polarization, featuring a party, which had begun to establish itself in the 1820s. The conflict between the North and South stemmed back to 1846, when the U.S.A won a huge area of Mexican territory as the result of what became known as the Mexican War. The land acquired revived controversy over the extension of slavery, as many Northerners wanted the new territory to become a free state with no slavery, and many Southerners wanted slavery to expand. Numerous compromises were conceded, to try to resolve the sectional conflict, for example the Wilmot Proviso of 1846 attempted to exclude slavery from any territory gained as a result of the war. The Calhoun Doctrine issued in 1847, and known as 'The Platform of the South', asserted that the territories were common property of all the states. However the argument of whether slavery should be... ... of the affects to their economy. However many Northerners who did resist slavery probably had a free labour ideology; that Northern farmers could grown cotton to fuel the trade industries of the North, as a replacement for slave labour. The events that had occurred before and after 1846 had shown that expansion of America created major sectional conflict and jealousies, due principally to the question of slavery. The resolutions had actually managed to delay the immediate danger of sectional split. However as the apparent fairness of the Compromise was false, like all other attempts at compromise it failed. Slavery was a moral issue, which proved that more than a compromise was needed to resolve it. The Compromise of 1850 ultimately resulted with a large number of Southerners seceding from the union, furthermore political polarization of the Democrats.

Human relations can help you in a few different ways. Having the skill can help you land that job you always wanted and you would be able to enjoy it. You may also become more productive at it and stay with the job longer which in turn would allow the chance to climb the corporate ladder. Our personality has a lot to do with how we relate to other persons in our personal and professional life. It can also affect our ability to interact with others, which in turn can take an impact on our career. So it is very important to separate our personal life from our professional one. For instance if you are having a bad day because of something that may had happened at home you need to leave that problem at home. It will still be there when you return. If you take it out on a patient, a client, or an employee that would be considered poor human relation skills. That is why I think the study of human relations is important, because it can help us understand others and help us separate our personal life from our professional one.

Paulina V Edmunds James Paulik Montessori Philosophy and Pedagogy 27 January 2013 NORMALIZATION The children, who benefit enormously from the Montessori legacy, enjoy what Maria Montessori called â€Å"a Cosmic Education†. These children transform by the order, harmony and tranquility they experience every minute in this Montessori environment. They begin to transform, and this natural transformation was called by Dr. Montessori: â€Å"Normalization†, â€Å"It is the mental state children reach when they approach their studies with enthusiasm, work with little direction, treat others in a respectful way, and can work quietly on their own or with others. (Montessori, 148) When Dr. Montessori began her work in San Lorenzo, Rome, she questioned herself if the accomplishments of the children were â€Å"the work of angels†; but after 40 years of hard work and observation she came to the realization that â€Å"normalization is the single most important result of our work† (The Absorbent Mind, 204) She borrowed the term from the Anthropology, and it means becoming a contributing member of society and used it to distinguish the process that occurs when the development is happening in a normal way.Even young 3 year olds can experience and desire concentrated work, which leads them to contentment, restfulness and calm. They start being responsible for their environment and care for the other members in their community. This transformation appears through the repetition of this cycle: 1. Prepare to perform an activity: get holds of all the materials, movement involved and thought put into it. 2. The activity in which the child reaches total concentration. . Rest, a feeling of totality, satisfaction and being happiness. In Montessori schools, educators recognize this progression as being the normal work cycle. A perceptive educator can recognize a child who is normalized by these characteristics: love of work, concentration, self-discipline and sociability. . Netball Essay Example Netball Essay Netball Essay My sport,being netball,is easy to identify strengths and weaknesses on the court due to the game being in quite a small area compared to games like rugby or football,and also doesnt have too many people on the court (7 players to each team), therefore its not hard to concentrate on all the players. Here,i am evaluating my strengths and weaknesses for certain aspects of my game. I play GA (Goal Attack) in netball,which is one of the most important positions on the court,due to it being an attacking player,it also 1 of the 2 layers that can shoot,so good shooting techniques and attacking is essential. Things like co-ordination,agility,balance,fats reactions,etc is vital when playing this position. Skills/Techniques My strength for this section would be co-ordination. I fell my co- ordination is strong as when i have the ball,i can concentrate on all the players ahead of me and more importantly,can focus on the players that i need to pass to to get the ball into the shooting circle. I can also throw the ball in the right spot for an oncoming player which doesnt waste time. My co-ordination strength would be shooting aswell,as my shooting is mostly perfect,if not i can always get the target,but its the case of perhaps not lifting the ball high enough if i miss. My weakness here would be agility. Even though i feel my agility is reasonably good,there is alot of room for improvement. If i have a good defence against me,it can be harder to change direction quickly as they are sticking by me constantly to prevent me getting the opportunity to shoot. In netball,it is vital to be able to move quickly,so this,i need to practice more to nable myself to challenge good defenders more than i do now. A perfect netball model would be incredibly agile and challenge all her opponents without struggle or effort. Strategies/Tactics One of my strengths for this section would be working with my neighbour positions (GS,WA and C). In our team we work well together and can all understand each other. I know when to recieve from the center or wing attack as we all need to ball to be recived by me or the GS to be able to score. I find it easy to get into the right spaces in our attacking third as there is no vercrowding in the attacking third and everyone is working together. I can create moves to confuse the defender whic gives the other attacking players time to get away from their defenders. My weakness would come under the fact that when the ball is coming down the court from our defenders,I sometimes tend to rush into the centre third to bring the ball up to the shooting area. This often causes abit of rushing in the centre third,panicking and confusion. It also prevents the team from getting the ball down to the shooting hird due to an extra player being in the centre third when they should be up in the shooting third. The perfect netball model would be aware of the space she needs to create and only move to the centre third when is absolutly necessary e. g the other attackers cannot get away from their defenders. Fitness Finally,i see fitness as the most important aspect of any physical game. My strength for fitness would be my muscular endurance. I rarely ever feel my muscles getting tired through a game as i have developed muscular trength and endurance over the years and as ive got older its become stronger. My muscles can work for a long period of time i feel,and even towards the end of a game i can use them just as much and they work just as well as in the beginning of a game. The strength of my muscles especially in my legs help me to jump to intercept passes from the opposing side or a rebound off the shooting post. My weakness however would be my cardiovascular fitness. I dont feel know where near as fit as i could be. I think my ardiovascular fitness isnt as good as it used to be due to not doing as much training as i used to. I think it is vital in an all important match,coming towards the end of the game and you need just a couple of goals to win,fitness can change a game. Improving my cardiovascular fitness will help me become a better player by being able to constantly be on my toes and 100% alert,therefore help the game become more fluent. A perfect netball model would have superb fitness as it is essential,and would be able to keep strong throughout the game.
